I got a chance to have a couple of long walks after Christmas day in 2009. Snow wasn’t as much as it had been but there were still fair amount. Couple of the photographs you might notice how misty it was earlier in the afternoon. It was freezing cold and wet as I had huddle underneath my umbrella to keep myself and my camera dry. Fortunately, the sun came out and turned out to be a fine day.
I took these photographs below while I was at university for my Photography class. There were couple of subjects given to work with. They were taken with my first SLR which was a second hand Canon AE-1. I used Ilford FP4 plus 125 film and hand developed and printed them.
I graduated from Istanbul Marmara University in 2000 with an art
degree and with a passion for black and white photography and graphic
design.
Now living in Edinburgh, I traveled back to Turkey in 2009 to explore the
beautiful Turquoise Coast. From the Saklıkent Gorge, the ancient Lycian
tombs to eerie abandon of Kayaköy, this area of the coast is a rich
tapestry of striking natural beauty and steeped in Turkish history.
